“Riyadh Appeal” issues the final verdict in the case of corruption in the municipality of Al-Ahsa • Newspaper Al-Marsad

Al-Marsad newspaper: sources revealed that the first appellate chamber for financial and administrative corruption cases in Riyadh has issued its ruling on the corruption case of the municipality of Al-Ahsa.

The sentences overturned the judgment of the Court of First Instance according to which one of the defendants had not been convicted for what was attributed to him for forgery, use and neglect of public funds, and attributing to them what they are not required to do.

The constituency also revoked the decision of the Court of First Instance not to convict the second defendant for what had been attributed to him for forgery, use and neglect of public funds, and sentenced him to three years in prison. He also overturned the Court of First Instance’s ruling not to convict him for what he had been credited with controlling parish members and to punish him for it with a fine of 20,000 riyals.

The First Appeal Section decided to overturn the Court’s decision not to convict the third accused for what had been attributed to him for forgery, use and waste of public money, and to convict him, as well as the fourth accused and his sentence of 3 years of imprisonment, from which the possible period of arrest in this case is counted. The circuit also annulled the non-conviction of the fifth accused for what had been attributed to him and punished him with two years of imprisonment, and to support what the court of first instance of the crime of forgery had established against him for his contribution to the falsification of a celibacy level.

The “appeal” ruling also provided for the revocation of the acquittal of the sixth accused of forgery and omission of public funds and his imprisonment for two years, the acquittal of the seventh and his sentence to one year of imprisonment. As for the tenth, eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth defendants, it was also decided to annul their non-conviction and to incarcerate them for one year each.

The First Circuit of the Court of Appeal has decided to overturn the decision of the Court not to convict the fifteenth and sixteenth defendants for what is attributed to them for falsehood, use and waste of public funds, and to condemn and punish them with imprisonment, and to confirm the decision of the Court of First Instance to close the case against the accused The latter is an Arab.

The constituency also decided to reject the prosecutor’s request to oblige the seventh, eighth, ninth, eleventh, thirteenth and fourteenth defendants to return the sums unlawfully paid to them.

Interestingly, the case began to be examined in August 2016, and the court then sentenced 3 secretarial executives and 11 defendants to imprisonment and fine, after convicting them of forgery and neglect of public funds. 1174628 riyals to some of them, before being acquitted 3 years ago.
