Riyadh: So far, one million people have applied for jobs in Saudi’s new airline, Riyadh Air. Within a year of the announcement, online applications were received from more than 100 countries.
Riyadh Air was announced by Saudi Crown Prince in March last year. In just one year, 10 lakh people applied for jobs at Riyadh Air. Apart from applications received online, these are the figures from recruitment shows held by the company in London, Paris, Dubai and Riyadh.
The company aims to create 200,000 new jobs and generate an additional revenue of Rs 20 billion in the non-oil sector. The company officials had stated the other day that the aircraft will start service at the beginning of next year, for which the company has currently placed orders for 72 aircraft. By 2030, the authorities have also stated that the aircraft will serve all the important cities of the world.
