The RIVM hopes to see the first effects of the corona measures that were announced nine days ago in the contamination figures next Tuesday. A spokesperson for the RIVM says this in conversation with NU.nl.
According to the spokesperson, it will only be possible on Tuesday to be able to say anything about the effectiveness of the current measures. “We hope this is the latest increase in the number of infections before the new measures.”
The spokesperson for the RIVM tells NU.nl that it is actually only possible to say something about the effect on the figures two weeks after new measures have been taken.
On Friday, the daily number of positive corona tests rose above 10,000 for the first time. On Wednesday there was another increase in the number of positive tests. Before that, the RIVM said that the increase seemed to be leveling off.
Umbrella organization GGD GHOR reported on Friday that the time from the moment the appointment is made until the announcement of the results has decreased significantly. This is because the supply of corona tests at the GGDs is currently greater than the demand.
