The seven-day average also increases from 292 infections to 326 infections. One deceased regional member has been reported to RIVM in the past 24 hours: someone from Molenlanden. One regional colleague from Rotterdam was also hospitalized.
According to the RIVM, there is an ‘autumn increase’. “The expected fall increase of the coronavirus seems to have started”, the RIVM concludes. More corona is also found in the sewer measurement and in the Infection Radar, where people fill in how they feel, more people with corona complaints are measured.
National figures
3,746 new positive tests have been reported to the RIVM until 10 a.m. this morning. That is 843 more than Tuesday and is the highest number since July 27.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the number of positive tests is almost always higher than in the rest of the week. This is because people are tested less during the weekend and a ‘catch-up effect’ subsequently occurs during the week.
On average, the number of positive corona tests is also increasing: in the past seven days, an average of 2806 positive tests were registered per day. That is 62 percent more than the seven days before.
The occupancy in the hospitals increased. There are now 524 people with corona in hospital (Tuesday: 512), of whom 137 in the ICU (Tuesday: 138), reports the National Coordination Center for Patients Spread.
12 deceased covid patients were reported to RIVM. In the past seven days, RIVM recorded an average of 5 deaths a day, compared to 4 deaths a day a week earlier.

Which figures does Rijnmond use?
We use the figures that the RIVM publishes on this page every day at 3:15 pm. The figures come from the GGD Rotterdam-Rijnmond and the GGD Zuid-Holland Zuid, but can deviate from the corona dashboard per day.
This can be for various reasons, for example the time at which the figures are entered and the fact that our region consists of two GGDs. Both GGDs have a different method for determining the daily figures. By using the same source every day, we have the best view of developments over several days and weeks.
