The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) registered 16,671 positive corona test results in the past 24 hours. In the past seven days, an average of 18,404 infections came to light.
Last Sunday, the seven-day average was still at 21,776 infections, since then it has fallen every day.
Hospitals
The number of corona patients in Dutch hospitals has increased slightly over the past 24 hours. In total, there are now 2,762 patients in hospital with Covid-19, the disease caused by the corona virus. This was reported by the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS) Sunday.
On Saturday, a total of 2743 corona patients were still in hospitals. There are now 2120 patients in the nursing wards, eleven more than on Saturday. In intensive care units, the number of patients rose by eight to 642.
In the past 24 hours, 251 new Covid-19 patients have been admitted to hospitals. Of them, 33 were admitted to the IC and 218 to the nursing wards.
