He Club Atlético River Plate celebrates International River Fan Day in commemoration of the birth, in 1918, of Angel Amadeo Labruna in Buenos Aires. The date was chosen in 2003.
Labruna was “the top scorer, the coach who made history, the fan who became an eternal symbol of River Plate,” the club shared on its social networks. Additionally, to celebrate the team’s fans, they published a video wishing them congratulations.
The anniversary happens after a “magical” week for the club, with the victory against Boca in the Bombonera and the classification to the semifinals of the Copa Libertadores. Marcelo Gallardocoach of River, came to greet the fans waiting outside the monument.
