For eight months, nothing seems to stop the bloody settling of accounts between two rival bands from Marseille. They are called “Yoda” and “DZ Mafia”. Their henchmen, very young, barely 18 years old, would be responsible for thirty-seven deaths this year. The month of August marked a peak in this series of settling of scores, with eight deaths. This prompted Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin to seek reinforcements from CRS 8, a unit specializing in urban violence.
The victims’ associations point out that the CRS 8 was already deployed in February and last April, and does not move the lines, nor does it improve the daily lives of the inhabitants. More information in the TF1 20H report at the top of this article.
