Ritter Sport wants to rely on paper packaging – but it has a disadvantage
It was one of the dominant issues last year: sustainability. And in 2020 there will also be increased awareness of how we protect the environment, throw less food away and produce less waste.
Plastic packaging should also be reduced. Some supermarkets have therefore replaced their packaging with edible wrappers. Avocados, cucumbers and Co. are said to last longer.
Farewell to plastic: paper as new packaging
The chocolate manufacturer Ritter Sport also wants to become more sustainable. There are over 30 types of different chocolate bars – all wrapped in plastic.
As they reveal on their blog, they have developed a paper prototype. Although this is better for the environmental balance, it does not offer a protective barrier for fatty foods. And we all know that delicious chocolate contains a lot of fat.
Chocolate testers should now take a close look at the packaging and share their feedback with the company. Then Ritter Sport will continue to deal with sustainable packaging.
