Rita Macedo sings Brazil at the Cave Poésie

the essentials Poetry Cave will live to the rhythm of Brazil, all week long, with carte blanche to Rita Macedo, founder of Femmouzes T.

The most Toulouse of Brazilians is on the bill for the Cave Poetry – René Gouzennefrom Tuesday 13 to Saturday 17 August, with a series of concerts in the form of a musical journey between forro, jazz and Occitan chat.

Concerts and good humor will punctuate this carte blanche to Rita Macedo (vocals, accordion) who begins, this Tuesday evening, with her trio forro composed of Robi Rohrbacher (piano, flute, guimbri, voice) and Onel Miranda (voice, percussion). An invitation to the popular ball that finds its energy in the street music of Salvador de Bahia and that will make the courtyard of the Cave Po dance.

Then, for two evenings, the fusion between traditional Brazilian music and jazz, Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 August, with “Rita & The Jambu Boys” which welcomes Tim Alcorn (drums, vocals), Juan Kowalczewski (bass) and Bastien Andrieu (keyboard). In this trance, Rita and her companions, artisans of emancipation, dance, sing, free in space.

The musical journey between France and Brazil will continue on Friday, August 16, with “Des îles et des ailes”, a trio in which the founder of Femmouzes T will be joined by Isabelle Adrien Gomes (trumpet) and Eraldo Gomes (percussion).

Finally, two voices to create a live performance with songs from the immense Brazilian musical continent, with beat box, loops, effects, improvisation and chatter in Occitan and French, Saturday August 17, with the complicity of Ange B from the Fabulous Trobadors. Machines and voices to achieve electronic trance and communicative joy.
