Risma Will Massively Overhaul Integrated Social Welfare Data

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini plans to massively overhaul the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

Expert Staff to the Minister of Social Affairs for Change and Social Dynamics, Adhy Karyono, said that this step has been summarized in the social protection reform that is being undertaken by the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos).

Changes in data are needed so that any social assistance that is distributed to the community is more targeted. The hope is that all forms of social assistance can be felt by 40 percent of the people in the lowest cluster.

“One of the reforms is related to data improvement. The main key is data,” said Adhy in a virtual webinar with UNICEF, Tuesday (23/3/2021).

Adhy said that later the DTKS would not only cover the distribution of the poor and underprivileged. DTKS will be integrated with data on the distribution of children from poor families, the distribution of the elderly, the distribution of people with disabilities, and others.

“They (all) have their own data and will be integrated with the DTKS,” he said.

Later, DTKS will also summarize all the pillars of the participants and resources Ministry of Social Affairs and local governments in all social assistance programs rolled out.

“Regarding integration, it remains the main improvement. All programs have one source. The distribution of children is important because there are children who live in foundations, orphanages, etc. mapping strong for that, “he explained.

For this integration, his party invites local governments to work together. This is because the data improvement cannot run well if the Ministry of Social Affairs makes the efforts.

Another step that is summarized in social protection reform is the center for the creation of the Ministry of Social Affairs. The creative center is a center for entrepreneurial and vocational development as well as a media for the promotion of the work of beneficiaries in one integrated area.

The aim is to advance the social welfare of the community, especially vulnerable and marginalized groups (Social Welfare Service Officials / Beneficiaries).

“This policy (the center for creation) was followed by an overhaul at the Ministry of Social Affairs, and followed by the local government to be able to provide inclusive social protection for children on a regular basis, but it must be specific,” he concluded.
