Risk patients will be vaccinated from 8 April: how do you know if you are on the list? And what should you do?

Dirk Ramaekers, the head of the vaccinations task force, says in “The world today” that Belgium has an advantage over other countries in compiling such lists: “We have a lot of digital data. We can draw from three sources: on the one hand, the cancer registry, for people who have been diagnosed with cancer in the past 5 years, in addition to the health insurance funds and of course also the general practitioners, who are also extensively medically digitized.

Privacy is respected, Ramaekers emphasizes: the list only states whether someone has an increased risk, not what condition it concerns. The detailed medical data therefore does not flow through.
