Jakarta – In recent years, solar activity has been increasing. The increase in solar activity is caused by the most active phase in the Sun’s 11-year cycle which will reach its peak activity in 2024.
Reporting from detikINET, the increased solar activity causes very strong flares. This unusual activity also affects Earth.
Nasa, through the Solar Dynamics Observatory, observed the Sun and succeeded in capturing images of the event. The powerful flare emitted by the Sun occurred on March 28 and reached its peak at 22:33 ET.
For your information, solar flares are very powerful bursts of energy. These solar flares and eruptions can have an impact on cutting off radio communications, electrical power networks, navigation signals, and pose a risk to spacecraft and astronauts.
The beacon is classified as an X1.2 beacon. Class X shows the most intense flare, while the numbers following behind it indicate its strength.
Apart from missions to explore the Moon, countries with advanced space technology are currently competing to get to the Sun. This mission was carried out to study the behavior of the main star that illuminates our Solar System.
NASA and a number of space agencies conduct observations of the Sun and the outer space environment with a fleet of spacecraft. Through this spacecraft, they studied various things, from solar activity to the Sun’s atmosphere, to particles and magnetic fields in space around Earth.
