In the country with around 60 million inhabitants, the number of new corona infections has recently risen again. According to experts, more infections were registered, especially among young people. “The Delta variant is threatening because it spreads quickly,” said Prime Minister Mario Draghi at a press conference in the evening. Change of parameters
According to the information, new rules will apply from August for the classification of the risk zones against the pandemic (white, yellow, orange and red zones). Instead of the incidence, the utilization of the hospital beds in the Covid-19 wards and in the intensive care units will be the decisive parameters in the future.
On Thursday, the health authorities in Italy registered almost 5057 new corona infections within one day and 15 deaths. More than 53 percent of the population over the age of twelve has been fully vaccinated to date.
