Fuel prices continue to rise seriously in the midst of the August holiday season, when a large number of Bulgarians leave for their summer vacation.
In the last week alone, diesel has become more expensive by BGN 0.10/l (3.94%) with an upward trend, and mainstream gasoline A-95 by 6 cents per liter, according to a Dnes.bg check on the specialized website fuelo.net. The increase in propane-butane is even more serious – BGN 0.23/l (25.84%) with a tendency to increase in price.
Seen on a monthly basis, the jump in diesel fuel jumped by an average of 18 cents per liter, gasoline – by an average of 13 cents, and propane-butane by BGN 0.25/l, with a rising trend.
According to the ranking by regions, fuel is currently the cheapest in the regions of Plovdiv, Pazardzhik and Pernik. At the opposite pole are Razgrad, Kardzhali and Smolyan.
In the capital Sofia, the average fuel price is BGN 2.68 per liter of A-95 gasoline and BGN 2.63 per liter of diesel. Propane-butane is sold at an average of 1.13 cents per liter.
How are the neighbors?
In the summer, traveling Bulgarians often go to neighboring countries to spend their vacations. For example, in Greece, preferred by our compatriots, the average prices are BGN 3.77 per liter of gasoline and about BGN 3.30 per liter of diesel.
The prices in Romania are relatively identical to ours – about BGN 2.66 per liter of gasoline and BGN 2.81 per liter of diesel. It is cheaper in Turkey – BGN 2.20 per liter of gasoline and about BGN 2.22 per liter of diesel.
To the west, prices in North Macedonia average BGN 2.57 per liter of gasoline and BGN 2.52 per liter of diesel, and in Serbia BGN 2.95 and BGN 3.18, respectively.
