Rising cases of child Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever at Bogor City Hospital: Pediatric ward at 96% capacity

BOGOR-RADAR BOGOR, The number of child patients suffering from Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD) at the Bogor City Regional General Hospital (RSUD) has recorded an increase. Where, the currently available children’s room capacity has almost reached 100 percent.

Sub-coordinator of Inpatient Care at Bogor City Regional Hospital, Dr. Yuyung Susanti, said that currently the number of dengue fever patients still being treated is 21 children, and one patient is listed as an adult.

“The condition of the RSUD ER so far has seen an increase in patient visits,” said Dr. Yuyung Susanti.

According to him, the number of inpatients at Bogor City Regional Hospital has continued to increase since January, especially in children’s rooms. Where, for inpatient care for children currently the bed occupancy is almost 96 percent.

Based on records from the Bogor City Regional Hospital, the number of dengue fever cases it will handle in 2023 is 439 patients, with details of January 34 patients, February 33 patients, March 22 patients, April 21 patients, May 35 patients, and June 31 patients.

Then, July 35 patients, August 35 patients, September 36 patients, October 53 patients, November 53 patients, December 51 patients.

Meanwhile for 2024, during the last two months there were 259 patients, with details in January 117 and February 142 patients.

“Bogor City Hospital itself provides 75 beds for children, and currently almost 96 percent,” he said.

However, Dr. Yuyung Susanti said that not all pediatric patients who were treated at the Bogor City Regional Hospital were due to dengue cases.
