The Rishonim Quartet is one of the best string quartets in Israel. On Friday, September 8, at 7 p.m., the new concert season of the Landesstiftung Villa Musica will open in Engers Castle. The quartet brings together four of Israel’s most experienced string players to form an ensemble of fascinating homogeneity.

Neuwied-Engers. In Engers they juxtapose the dramatic A minor Quartet by the young Felix Mendelssohn with the “Dissonance Quartet” K. 465 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. With a new work from their homeland – “Forgotten Nights” by Noam Sheriff – they commemorate the founding of the State of Israel 75 years ago and the wealth of Israeli music through the generations.
