New Delhi: Indian batsman and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was seriously injured in a car accident last month. The player who has suffered a knee ligament injury will need at least six months of rest. He is being treated in a Mumbai hospital.
The star was transferred to Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on January 4 from Dehradun. Pant’s injury is similar to the one sustained by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja last year.
Experts say it will take more than six months to fully heal. As the medical team in Dehradun said that the star needs surgery as soon as possible, the star was flown to Mumbai by air.
The star could miss the Border Gavaskar Trophy which takes place in March in February and the IPL to follow. Indications are that the star may return for the 2023 Asian Cup. Late last month, the actor was injured when his car crashed into a room divider in the early morning hours while returning from visiting his mother in Roorkee, Uttarakhand.
