Vaccination is accelerating in the United States in an attempt to curb the pandemic which has regained strength in recent weeks. The country has averaged nearly 95,000 new cases per day in the past week.

Experts from our neighbors to the south had noticed a significant drop in vaccination during the month of July; so much so that in the United States, there is really an upsurge in the number of new cases everywhere except the northeastern United States which also has a higher vaccination rate among its population.
We can see that in the states with the most vaccinations, the number of new cases requiring hospitalization is lower.
Despite this rise in new cases, we are delighted, in the United States, about the growing interest in vaccination. A 20% increase in one week, including more than half a million who were on their first dose.
However, vaccination will have to accelerate even further, experts say, otherwise the Delta variant will continue to spread and thus, it is feared, allow new, potentially more dangerous mutations.
The mask debate continues in the south of the country. It is now mandatory in government buildings in Nashville. The governor of Arkansas now regrets having legislated to prevent being forced.
In Florida, the governor even refuses to be forced into schools.
It’s up to the parents to decide, says Republican Ron DeSantis. Texas and Florida account for a third of all new infections, and Florida has the most hospitalizations for both adults and children. In those two states, just under 300 children in hospital are living with COVID-19, as the return to school begins in several parts of the United States.
