San Martin tied 1-1 against Arsenal at “El Viaducto”

“El Santo” and “El Arse” played the 29th round of the Primera Nacional. “Chuny” Moreno tied the score for “Ciruja” at 29′ of the second half.

San Martín and Arsenal faced each other on matchday 29 of the Primera Nacional. Those led by Translator Flores tied 1-1 with an own goal by Mastrángelo and the equalizer by “Chuny” Moreno.
The match was refereed by Pablo Giménez, with Hugo Páez as the first assistant and Sebastián Pumetti as the second. The fourth referee was Cristian Cernadas.
San Martín started off with a high attack, distributing the play between Caco García and Juan Cuevas. The clearest chance of the match for Santo came from two runs by Cuevas who shot from outside the area to the right post and Arsenal goalkeeper Facundo Masuero managed to deflect it to the corner.
Santo was very close again, making a good wall pass with the midfield that overflowed on the left. Mastrángelo had one of the many shots and Masuero prevented the visitors from taking the lead.
San Martín was always under pressure, and had more than one chance to make the difference, but the shooting positions were uncomfortable or the ball went too far. Caco García had a clear chance in front of goal, he shot with his left foot and the ball went too far.
Arsenal were the team that created the least chances in the first 45 minutes, they had chances and shots but most of them were not very dangerous. The crosses were imprecise and had almost no destination.
The second half was more even and Arsenal began to play as equals, there was not much action because the match was very disputed in the middle.
The Arse’s goal came after a shot from Trombini that Herrera sent to the corner, the cross ended with a shot from Alexis Sosa that filtered between Mastrángelo’s legs at 25′ of the second half.
San Martín reacted quickly and the changes made by Translator Flores bore fruit. “El Chuny” Moreno and “El Turbo” Rodríguez came on, who assisted Moreno with a cross to tie the game at 29′.
Santo had a very tough match at the Viaducto on Saturday afternoon, drawing 1-1 and now must wait for the result of the match between Chacarita and San Martín de San Juan to find out if they will remain the sole leader of the Primera Nacional.
The next match will be the 30th and will be played against San Martín de San Juan in “La Ciudadela”.
