Brand stores for the Bulgarian consumer at the time of the transition are facing a serious problem.
From the end of last year until January 6, every day in the country at least one boutique went bankrupt, a survey showed. “Online competition is too much for us, that’s why we were forced to close. We are selling our property for BGN 8,000”, told the “Telegraph” from a store for second-hand branded clothes in Sofia.
Customers
According to merchants, before, physical stores, especially for second-hand clothes, were an absolute hit both in the capital and in smaller towns.
“At the moment, the trend is reversed. We have days when not a single person comes in,” commented seller-consultants. Their colleagues from the Levski district, who also have an online store, said that they have closed their physical store and are currently selling only through the internet. The reason is that customers prefer to shop over the phone or computer. In addition, they constantly change the nomenclature. According to them, people shop online for baby clothes and women’s clothes the most.
