Bed bugs were discovered in Daegu, Incheon, and Bucheon, and also appeared in Seoul. It was found that more than half of Seoul’s 25 autonomous districts have started to quarantine bed bugs.
According to a Channel A report on the 30th, a report of bed bugs was received at the public health center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 25th of last month.
A resident of a gosiwon located in Yeongdeungpo-gu filed a complaint that bedbugs had appeared on blankets, flooring, and clothes.
When public health center employees went to the scene, bed bugs had already spread and were found in four rooms.
A quarantine specialist company announced that a total of 24 cases of bedbug quarantine work were carried out in 13 out of 25 districts in Seoul this month alone. The targets were mostly gosiwons and private homes.
Accordingly, the city of Seoul plans to create a bed bug prevention and management guide and distribute it to district offices.
