At the beginning of November, a series of attacks against the backdrop of fake naughty meetings took place in Dijon. Businesses that all start on Coco.fr, a site with an already sulphurous reputation.
The Coco.fr site is once again involved in cases of attacks in Burgundy. On October 31, November 2 and 5, a series of “theft or attempted theft with violence” occurred in Dijon.
The victims came into contact with a woman posing as an escort girl on the chat site. “Then there isn telephone contact with this woman to decide on an appointment. When the person shows up, three men are waiting for him. The victim is then threatened, assaulted and robbed.”details Olivier Caracotch, public prosecutor of Dijon. The three men and the woman were arrested and will be judged on December 13. Until then, the woman and two men are in pre-trial detention, the third man is free under judicial supervision.
As a reminder, this is not the first time that the Coco.fr site has been involved in stories of aggression. In 2022, a man was attacked by several people in the parking lot of Lake Kir in Dijon. This homosexual man had to find another user for an agreed meeting via the chat site. But the meeting was in reality an ambush.
In September 2023, a 48-year-old man in Mâcon was also trapped. While he thought he had a meeting with a man after a discussion on the site Coco.fr, it was in fact five people who came out of a field and beat him up, calling him a “dirty PD “.

Olivier Caracotch admits, it is difficult to put in place measures against Coco.fr. “It is a site that is hosted abroad on which it is very complicated to verify usage. But whether it is for prostitution or ambush, it is not legal. Simply complying with the regulations would not expose you to such risks.”recalls the Dijon public prosecutor this Thursday, November 9.

“It is a site that occasionally comes up in incidents of the same nature. We find it in cases of pimping with the prostitution of minors, sexual assault procedures, and homophobic attacks”note Olivier Caracotch.

Burgundy is not the only region concerned. Numerous cases of assault across the country are linked to this mysterious site. The best known takes place in Vaucluse, where a retiree delivered his wife to strangers whom he hired on Coco.fr. His partner, a drug addict, was raped numerous times. The events occurred between 2011 and 2020.
