RI’s COVID-19 Cases Rise Again, This is the Data for the Last 3 Weeks

Jakarta

COVID-19 task force reveals increase in virus cases Corona for the last three weeks. The task force is also wary of this increase in cases.

“It should be noted that there has been an increase in the trend of positive cases over the last three weeks, and active cases for the last 4 days. Seen on the weekly positive case chart, there was an increase of 571 or 31 percent from cases on 22 May 2022, from 1,814 to 2,385 weekly cases, “said COVID-19 spokesman Wiku Adisasmito, at a press conference, Wednesday (6/8/2022).

“Then in active cases there was an increase of 328 or 10 percent from active cases on June 2, 2022, which was 3,105 to 3,433 daily active cases,” he said.

Wiku said the number was important to watch out for. Wiku added that Indonesia had managed to keep cases stable in recent months.

“This is important to watch out for, considering that for approximately 3 months in a row, since Omicron, we have managed to keep cases stable,” he said.

Meanwhile, there was no increase in hospital occupancy or BOR. And, said Wiku, there was also no increase in the number of deaths.

“The daily isolation BOR trend remains stagnant, while the weekly death trend still shows a decline which is a good sign,” he said.

Increase in active cases Corona it is dominated on the island of Java. There are five provinces that are of concern for an increase in cases, such as DKI Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Java.

“First, DKI Jakarta experienced a 30 percent increase, the second Banten experienced a 38 percent increase, and the third West Java experienced an 18 percent increase, the four Special Regions of Yogyakarta experienced a 45 percent increase, and the fifth East Java experienced a 37 percent increase,” said Wiku.
