Ripple (XRP) CEO Responds To Allegations By CoinShares CSO »Crypto Insiders

Since the sharp fall in the price of bitcoin (BTC) is the a much-discussed point. The energy consumption of the largest cryptocurrency. This discussion was sparked after Elon Musk spoke about energy consumption with all its consequences.

Yesterday came out that CoinShares’ CSO, Meltem Demirors, is to blame for this energy fear, uncertainty, doubt (FUD) deposited with a single company. This company was Ripple (XRP). It was Ripple that, according to Demirors, had been spreading FUD around bitcoin for a long time.

Meanwhile, Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, has responded to these allegations via Twitter. According to Garlinghouse, it’s nonsense and even flattering in a way that Demirors believes Ripple is responsible for the FUD. According to Garlinghouse, Ripple should then be the ‘puppeteer’ of Elon Musk, governments of countries, scientists and others. Which he receives as a compliment in a sarcastic way.

The fact remains that Garlinghouse has spoken often enough about the energy consumption of bitcoin. In April of this year, he claimed another interview met Bloomberg that a single transaction on the Bitcoin network consumes no less than 283 liters of gasoline. In addition, he called bitcoin “one of the least efficient payment mechanisms mankind has ever created.” According to him, bitcoin’s energy consumption will only become more problematic as the price of bitcoin increases.

Clearly, Garlinghouse is not a fan of bitcoin and its energy consumption. He doesn’t bother about his opinion of the largest cryptocurrency. He is therefore even accused by, among others, Meltem Demirors of being the largest responsible party behind the recent FUD. Garlinghouse himself, in turn, denies this. It seems that this mud throwing is not over for the time being. Whether we will ever know whether Ripple will actually be behind the recent FUD, we may never know
