Ripple Labs Hosts ‘Victory Party’ to Celebrate XRP Community: Recap of SEC Lawsuit and Celebration Event

According to foreign media such as UToday, Ripple held a party in New York City on the 29th (local time) to commemorate its victory in the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) lawsuit. On this day, CEO Brad Garlinghouse said, “There is no special announcement. “It’s a celebration,” he wrote on X (Twitter).

Garlinghouse released photos taken with community members and a tattoo containing the meaning of self-congratulation.

The date ’07 – 13 – 2023′ is engraved on the right arm along with the XRP logo. On July 13, the Southern District Court of New York issued a historic ruling that “the securities identification method cannot be applied to XRP sold through cryptocurrency exchanges.”

“If it weren’t for special circumstances, I would have gotten a similar tattoo,” said David Schwarz, Ripple’s chief technology officer.

There were no surprise announcements at the party that day. Some in the Ripple community had expectations that Ripple would announce an IPO. The price of XRP temporarily rose to $0.55.
