Thiruvananthapuram: Notorious criminal Ripper Jayanandan allowed to attend his daughter’s wedding. The High Court allowed the petition filed by Jayanand’s wife. Ripper Jayanandan, a convicted felon, was lodged in the high-security jail at Viyur Jail in Thrissur. It was on the 17th that his wife Indira approached the High Court requesting that Ripper Jayanand be allowed to participate in his daughter’s wedding and for this he should be granted parole for 15 days.
The state government had opposed parole. Keerthy Jayanandan, daughter of Ripper Jayanandan, is a lawyer. The daughter appeared in the High Court on behalf of her mother. It was her marriage that she argued in the High Court seeking permission for her father to participate in her marriage as a daughter and not as a lawyer. Although the state government opposed this, Keerthi Jayanandan placed before the court the demand that she should be treated as a daughter.
At present, the court has granted permission with conditions. That means Ripper Jayanand can go home under police protection on the day before the wedding on 21st. On the 22nd, from nine o’clock to five o’clock, you can attend the wedding. Two days permission is given. The court has directed that his wife and daughter give an affidavit that he will return to jail.
