Frankfurt/Main (dpa) – After the Bundesliga match between Eintracht Frankfurt and VfB Stuttgart (1:1), there were clashes between the fan camps of the two teams on the train tracks near the Frankfurt stadium. After the game on Saturday, Stuttgart ultras had pulled the emergency brake on their special train and got out to have an argument with Frankfurt supporters on the tracks, as a spokesman for the federal police said on Sunday night.
There were restrictions on train traffic for about an hour. Long-distance trains were also affected. The federal police brought the situation under control very quickly, it said. The special train with around 560 Stuttgart trailers was then forwarded to Neu-Isenburg to record the personal details of all train occupants.
According to the spokesman, it was a temporary arrest of all passengers on the entire special train. The controls lasted until just after midnight before the train continued, it said. According to a police spokesman, the riots came from a small part of the supporters. There were no serious injuries.
