The Association of Voluntary Blood Donors, despite the problems posed by the health crisis, has not forgotten the sick.
Following the death of Francisque Fanget, very involved with his wife, president of the Amicale de Riotord, a new team has just been set up.

Essential blood requirements
Donors note that, recently, there has been a sharp drop in dating sites linked to Covid-19.
This situation has led to a drop in reserves, while needs remain constant.
This is why the EFS (French Blood Establishment) invites donors to go to the collection sites, while applying the health protocol, to offer their blood.
Moreover, the last donation in the municipality made it possible to obtain a first record with 82 donations.

Regular donations appreciated
To this end, the French Blood Establishment indicates that the shelf life of blood products is short (7 days for platelets, 42 days for red blood cells). It should be noted that 10,000 blood donations are needed every day in France, to meet the needs of patients. No product can replace donor blood.
Riotord’s association is a large chain of volunteers that appeals to new donors. Young donors have already made themselves known and it is a good thing to ensure the future of this act of generosity.
The next donation in the commune is set for October 26.
