During a film event, a 21-year-old from Iserlohn stripped off his upper body early Saturday morning, around 1 a.m., in a cinema hall on the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring. The man also took out a knife and played with it. When other visitors drew the cinema staff’s attention to the man, he left the building. Due to the police officers who were alerted at the same time, he could still be found on the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring. He was tied up by the agents. The 21-year-old was carrying a prohibited one-handed knife in his jacket pocket. The apparently intoxicated man spent the rest of the night in police custody. On the way from the police car to his cell, the man repeatedly insulted the emergency services and attacked them in the custody wing by kicking and biting them. Police are now investigating him for threats, name calling, resisting law enforcement and violating the gun law. The one-handed knife was secured. The police officers were not injured. (schl)
