What is this cinematic? The new season starts in LoL on January 10th and to herald these and upcoming innovations, Riot Games has released a new Cinematic.

It shows various champions involved in fights:

  • Lux and Garen fight Sylas. A battle between which Galio later intervenes. Sylas himself leads a revolt in Demacia and will join Freijord after the latest lore.
  • Caitlyn and Vi meet Urgot.
  • Ezreal and Kai’Sa fight together against a horde of voidlings.

In each duel there is a faction that is initially defeated, but continues to fight to gain the upper hand again. In the end, like in the other trailers, there are no winners, only fighters.

  • SedOfAstora: “This is by far the best cinematic they have made in years, maybe even the best ever. I’m not an expert, but this cinematic is not a “cool, look at that.” It’s more like: “Oh my god, I want to play this game more”.
  • Dearche: “I love it when the beat of the music hits the content of the trailer, for example when Vi hits someone.”
  • Austin Goggans: “Beautiful, just like Blizzard, Riot just knows how to do cinematics.”

New games must first convince

What’s next for Riot in 2020? Riot Games now has to prove that they can do more than just make a game a success. League of Legends is a perennial favorite is one of the world’s top-selling games in 2019,

It is not yet possible to say whether the new games will convince. In the teaser video for 2020 new LoL champions and updates, innovations for TFT and another test phase for Legends of Runeterra were announced.

2020 should also TFT-Mobile and LoL-Mobile appear. An exciting year in which Riot Games would like to offer more than just LoL.

Not everything about LoL is always positive. The behavior of the players is difficult, as our author Philipp has personally experienced:

I played LoL for the first time – they are really as mean as everyone says
