Riot Games sues NetEase, Hyper Front accused of plagiarism of value

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Game developer Riot Games has sued NetEase and charged mobile game made by Chinese technology company Hyper Front, it copies several aspects of Value.

Reported Law360as quoted by EngadgetOn Monday (12/12/2022), Riot Games described Hyper Front as “a copy of an important part Value.”

Riot also stated that in addition to being similar in format, NetEase also replicates parts of the character designs, game maps, weapon designs, and so on.

Polygon reported, this case was taken to the High Courts of England and Wales and complained about in Germany, Brazil and Singapore.

riot claims, Hyperfront began development shortly after their initial reveal Value–when it was called “Project A”, in October 2019. NetEaseon the other hand, it showed the beta version of Hyperfront with the code “Project M.”

The release of Hyper Front in Singapore and other countries is also said to have drawn complaints from users, who have called the game essentially a “clone” of Valorant.
