Riot Games has released an album of copyright-free music for use by streamers.
The 37-track album is called Sessions: Vi, and it lets streamers play music without fear of copyright infringement. Riot Games made the album available on Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. The move comes as game developers work around Twitch’s current limitations.
Developer Cyperpunk 2077 Projekt RED CD included a special streaming mode that removes any copyrighted music from the game. This is because Twitch has warned streamers about incoming DMCA strikes as the industry music punishes copyright infringements. Twitch told creators that it has over 1,000 DMCA reviews for most archived video, or VOD, content.
“Sessions: Vi is the result of a promise made by Riot Games Music a year ago: to create new music that is safe to stream and use for free,” the press release reads. “Something to help solve a small portion of the copyright issues faced by creators and streamers around the world.”
Riot Games Music has announced plans to create more Sessions albums in the future. The album was developed in partnership with several musicians including Chromonicci, Junior State, Laxcity and Tennyson. You can check out the full list of tracks below and use any of them in your streaming efforts.
