Rio reaches a thermal sensation of 55°C with heavy rain forecast

The city of Rio de Janeiro recorded this Saturday (7) a thermal sensation of 55.8º Celsius (ºC), in the neighborhood of Guaratiba, at 12:40 pm, in the west zone of the city. At the other end of the city, in Jardim Botânico, a more wooded region, in the south of the city, the thermal sensation reached 51.8ºC, at 1:30 pm. The day became very hot from the early hours of the morning. The beaches were crowded, on a cloudy and very hot day.

Mayor Eduardo Paes warned on his social media page about the displacement of heavy rain predicted for this afternoon. “Stay tuned! Get informed before moving around the city! Areas of instability at medium levels of the atmosphere, associated with heat and high humidity, will influence the weather over the city of Rio de Janeiro this Saturday”.
