“Rio Ferdinand backs Bruno Fernandes as Manchester United’s next captain”

Bruno Fernandes deemed it appropriate to be given full trust to become the first captain Manchester United. This was stated by Rio Ferdinand.

Bruno Fernandes spent most of this season as Manchester United captain. It happened because Harry Maguire often backed up during the reign of the Red Devils Erik ten Hag.

Maguire is one of the MU defenders who has received a lot of attention. The barrier for the English national team often makes blunders.

However, Ten Hag still entrusted Maguire as captain when played. Bruno Fernandes also had to be willing to give up the circle on his arm.

Ferdinand, as a former MU player, hopes that Bruno Fernandes can be trusted more to play as captain. At least for next season he has become MU’s first captain.

“Will Bruno be captain next year? 100 per cent… I think he has done his job,” Ferdinand said as quoted by the Mirror.

“Since Bruno came he has been the most influential player we have. He wore the captain’s armband when Maguire didn’t play. I think it is a natural development for him to be captain next season.”

Ferdinand also felt that Bruno Fernandes was extraordinary in the number of goals. He even felt that playing for Arsenal could already be given a statue.

“Have you seen Bruno’s numbers? Wow. That guy – it’s incredible what he’s done. If he was at Arsenal he would probably have a statue now at the Emirates with the numbers he has achieved.”
