The day after the race weekend in Detroit, where Rinus VeeKay achieved mixed results with a podium and eighteenth place, he jumped on his bike for a training trip.
During that trip he was involved in an accident, his team Ed Carpenter Racing reported on Twitter. He sustained an injury to his collarbone. It is not known whether it is broken or not.
He is being treated by IndyCar medical personnel, is in good spirits and thankfully has no other injuries. It is not yet clear whether VeeKay can participate this weekend at Road America, where the IndyCar circus will land.
