It is the first major festival in France since the health crisis: Catherine Ringer, Alain Souchon or even Feu! Chatterton will be among the headliners of Printemps de Bourges which confirmed its outfit from June 22 to 27 on Friday.
«
We wanted to want: it was unthinkable to do two white editions in a row », Explains to AFP the director of the festival Boris Vedel. “
Spring will be different but it will be Spring. The artists have all agreed to play with gauges at 65% and, according to the elements in place, we must be able to make ends meet. He continues.
That “10,000 festival-goers”
Printemps, which attracted 200,000 people for its last real edition in 2019 (there was only one symbolic stage shifted in September 2020 with emerging artists), should at best welcome only “10,000” festival-goers this times according to its director.
The rooms will be in a seated and distanced configuration. The festival has done away with its largest enclosure, the W (10,000 seats), because of the health context. The largest of the rooms will be the Palais d’Auron, which will only accommodate 1,000 people. Wearing a mask will be compulsory on the entire festival site, indoors and outdoors. The curfew will be at this time at 11 p.m.
More than 70 artists will perform, between emerging figures – since Spring is also a breeding ground for talents – and confirmed values such as Gaël Faye, Jean-Louis Aubert, Pomme, Suzane, Philippe Katerine, Sébastien Tellier and Georgio.
The next generation, like the rising generation of rap, embodied by Lala & ce (pronounced “Ace” as in tennis), or the young shoots put forward at the last Victoires de la Musique – Yseult, Hervé or even Noé Preszow (pronounced “Préchof” ) – are also in the game. Not to mention creations, such as a tribute to Prince (who died five years ago) by Jeanne Added.
In addition, the day after Printemps, on June 28 in Bourges, the second part of the States general of festivals with Roselyne Bachelot, initially scheduled for June 22, the Ministry of Culture said on Friday.
Printemps is one of the few major festivals in contemporary music to be held this summer, as are Vieilles Charrues (July 8-18) and Francofolies (July 10-14).
Faced with the health constraints put forward over the months, many big festivals have already canceled, such as Solidays, Eurockéennes, Hellfest, Garorock, Main Square, Art Rock, Lollapalooza or Musilac.
