Launched today by Amazon, the small video doorbell Ring Video Doorbell Wired comes with the main features like advanced motion detection, HD video, two-way audio, customizable detection and privacy zones.
Sold for $ 80 (all prices rounded), it is cheaper than the Video Doorbell 2020 ($ 100), Video Doorbell 3 ($ 200), Video Doorbell 3 Plus ($ 220), Video Doorbell Pro ($ 250) or Video Doorbell Elite ($ 350) or the solar charging model ($ 150).

At this price, you will understand, Amazon wants to democratize this type of digital doorbell for first owners or for those who want to complete a second residence or chalet without spending too much.
The connected Video Doorbell (wired) offers the following functions:
- 1080p HD video with night vision;
- two-way audio system with background noise suppression;
- customizable detection zones that allow users to create specific zones for triggering alerts;
- possibility to define private zones, so as to exclude areas that users do not wish to monitor;
- Advanced motion detection that initiates recording if there is movement within a certain distance of the connected Video Doorbell and sends an alert to the Ring app;
- additional functions for Ring Protect plan subscribers: color Pre-Roll function, people detection mode and enhanced notifications.

A bell that replaces another
In order to function, this Ring doorbell must be connected to the power supply of a pre-existing doorbell. Another detail, this basic model does not include a ringtone, everything goes through the Ring application which alerts you of expected visits or surprises.
