Ring has released a new generation of its Alarm security system. The new version has buttons with which the emergency services, such as the police and fire brigade, can be reached. New sensors are also being released.

Ring shows the new version of its security system Alarm on its website. According to the company, the new generation has received a modified design with a new keypad, whereby emergency services can be reached at the touch of a button: there are individual buttons for fire brigade, police and medical emergency services. The button must be pressed for three seconds to reach the emergency services.

Whether these buttons can be made country-specific by the different forms of emergency aid in each country is not yet clear: Ring has not disclosed anything about this. The new Alarm is not yet displayed on the Dutch Ring webshop.

At the same time, Ring also releases new sensors. These are new motion sensors and sensors that detect whether windows and doors are open. The new design should make it easier to assemble, according to the maker.

Ring released his first version of Alarm some time ago. The system was initially called Protect, but the name was changed after a conflict with competitor ADT.
