Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse: Unique Phenomenon to Witness in 2023

AURORA NEWSThis week will witness a unique solar eclipse phenomenon known as the ‘ring of fire’.

Unfortunately, this phenomenon cannot be witnessed directly in Indonesia. A solar eclipse occurs when the sun, moon and earth are in a straight line, resulting in the moon’s shadow covering the sun’s light.

In a ring of fire solar eclipse, the moon appears slightly smaller than the sun, so the moon’s shadow does not completely cover the sun’s disk, creating a beautiful ring of fire around it.

This phenomenon is expected to occur on November 14, 2023, and can be witnessed in several states in the United States.

This ring of fire solar eclipse will be visible in an annular path 125 miles wide or about 200 kilometers.

Several states in the United States, such as Oregon, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, will experience a decrease in sunlight due to this phenomenon.

For those who cannot witness this phenomenon directly, NASA will host a live broadcast of the ring of fire solar eclipse via its YouTube channel, VideoFromSpace, next week.***
