Ring launches new products – doorbell and camera

Call Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is an updated version of the four-year-old Floodlight Cam, and the new features include motion detection in 3D and night vision in color. The camera also uses the Audio + technology together with several microphones to both record sound better and eliminate echo effects.

The unit will also be easier to place legally as Floodlight Cam Wired Pro has customizable motion zones as well as private zones that limit the monitoring area as needed. The function uses, among other things, 3D technology to create these zones, and sensors measure the distance to objects and do not start the camera until it is within the distance of the created zone. The 3D technology is also used to create what can be compared to a flight map for how a visitor has moved even before the camera has been activated and the user receives a notification that something may be going on.

Connection can be made either via wireless network or with cable and users can keep track of their outdoor environment and see and talk to visitors via, for example, the mobile phone or an Alexa-connected device.

The 3D motion detection also has a bird’s eye view, which gives a view as from a flight map of the course of events, which clearly shows how a visitor entered the site. The function is recognizable from the recently launched Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 and provides a visual picture of how a visitor went even before a motion notice has been sent. In this way, the homeowner can get a better understanding of what is happening in the area when different Ring devices have been activated.

Ring is also launching a fourth-generation doorbell in the form of the Ring Video Doorbell 4, which, among other things, has the same type of motion detection as the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro for reading movement patterns. It also has the Re-Roll function which registers what happens the seconds before the motion detector is activated, much like a form of repeat function.

The battery-powered doorbell has a connection to a wireless network via dual-band, a 1080p camera and the possibility of two-way conversations with visitors.

Floodlight Cam Wired Pro will be on sale in the coming months with a price tag of SEK 2,799, while Ring Video Doorbell 4 will be released on May 5 for SEK 2,199.
