Rijnstate hospital in Zevenaar temporarily stops operations | Inland

“In order to guarantee the care for corona patients in Rijnstate Arnhem, we are forced to temporarily close the operating theaters in Rijnstate Zevenaar,” said the hospital. It concerns four operating theaters.

Although the number of corona infections in the Arnhem region is leveling off slightly, the pressure on healthcare remains high. “In the meantime, the number of sick employees in Rijnstate is increasing, which makes it more difficult at the moment to get the duty rosters properly filled,” says the hospital.

The St Jansdal hospital in Harderwijk also announced measures on Tuesday to accommodate the influx of corona patients. Planned operations are canceled or, if possible, moved to the hospital in Lelystad. “This is now inevitable in order to continue urgent care, such as emergency care and oncology,” said the hospital board.

The Alrijne Hospital in Leiderdorp will also postpone more non-acute operations. “The number of corona patients in the region and in our hospital has increased even more recently. We regularly move patients outside the region. This is very annoying for our patients but urgently needed to make beds available again ”, the hospital said.
