Rijkswaterstaat warns road users of disruption and long detour times on the A2 and A27 this weekend. The asphalt needs to be worked on on both highways. This creates extra travel time, which can amount to more than an hour.
The A27 towards Breda will close on Saturday at 9 p.m. between the Gorinchem junction and the Hooipolder junction, because the asphalt on the Merwedebrug between Gorinchem and Sleeuwijk needs urgent repairs. That lasts until 5:00 am on Monday.
Due to the emergency job, asphalt paving work on the A2 between the Deil and Empel junction must be done a day earlier. The highway section towards Den Bosch is closed between Friday 9 p.m. and Sunday 5 a.m.
This means that parts of the A2 and A27 will be closed from Saturday evening to Sunday morning. Traffic from Rotterdam, Nijmegen, Utrecht, Maastricht and Eindhoven will be affected. Diversion routes via various other highways are indicated.
