Riise and Avaldsnes announced victory against Kolbotn after the track scandal

It has the appeals committee of the Norwegian Football Association specific. The teams were supposed to meet on April 27, but the match was not played as planned because the referee thought that the field was not in an acceptable condition.

Avaldsnes coach John Arne Riise thought the match should have been canceled.

– Here, NFF and Kolbotn thought on Monday it should be justifiable to play a match today … big holes, lots of sand, uneven and poorly marked … We came, match canceled. This could have been solved on Monday by moving to artificial turf which they have played all season. Amateur, he wrote on Instagram.

– It’s a sad thing for us

TV 2 has been in contact with Sports Manager for Kolbotn, Marius A. Overmo.

– It is a very sad case for us in sports, and it is a pity that the players are deprived of the opportunity to play for the points on the field, says Overmo.

At the same time, Overmo points out that it is the municipality, Nordre Follo, which has the operational responsibility for the course.

– A check was made of the course in advance, and the three points that had to be improved should be affordable, he explains.

– The operation of the course must be better in the future. It helps little to develop sports if such fundamental things as track are not in order, the sports director continues.

Winner on walkover

Avaldsnes sent a claim for victory on the walkover after the match was postponed due to security reasons.

According to the rules, the club that organizes a match “has to set a regulated course and playing equipment at the set time. If the match can not be started within 45 minutes after the set time because the organizing club has exceeded its obligations after the first sentence, the organizer team loses the match -3 “.

The NFF administration rejected Avaldsnes’ claim, at the end of April, but in the appeals committee, Riise’s club is upheld. Avaldsnes therefore wins the match on walkover.

Excerpt from the Appeals Committee’s assessment of the case:

“The referee’s report shows that Sofiemyr stadium at the time of the match did not meet the requirements for a playing field in the Toppserien. The appeal committee has no reason to doubt the referee’s description that the field was very hard, lacked functioning irrigation system disappeared.

Although Kolbotn has tried to implement the measures that were pointed out at the inspection, it was not sufficient. The course was thus not regulated at the set time.

The conclusion is thus that Kolbotn has neglected its duty to set a regulated course at a set time. Since the match as a result could not start within 45 minutes after the set time, Kolbotn loses the match and the match result is set to 0-3 », it is said.

– We have to take note of the decision, and use it as motivation further in the season. We will fight on, and show that this is a match we should have had three points from in the first place, says Overmo.

The victory is Avaldsnes second in eight matches in 2022.
