Rakim Mayers (33), as the artist is actually called, was met by police at Los Angeles International Airport after landing by private plane. He came from Barbados, where he has been on holiday with his heavily pregnant girlfriend, Rihanna (34).
Mayers’ lawyer confirms the arrest, according to NBC.
They write that the rapper is being investigated for a shooting episode at Vista Del Mar on November 6. He has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the alleged victim, he was approached by A $ AP Rocky and two others on the street.
The rapper must then have fired three or four shots with a handgun. The victim, a man according to NBC, must “believe” that he was touched in the left hand by one shot.
TMZ writes that the rapper and the alleged victim knew each other from before.
They further report that a house search is now underway in A $ AP Rocky’s home.
According to TMZ, A $ AP Rocky held a concert not far from the stated venue the next day, with Rihanna present.
In 2019, the artist spent a month in prison in Sweden, after a street fight.
He was later sentenced to probation for assault. The rapper escaped further imprisonment, but had to pay approx. 12,000 kroner in compensation to the victim.
