Singer Rihanna has been cast as Smurfette in a new animated film about the Smurfs. The 35-year-old artist is also involved in the production and is writing music for the project.
Rihanna, who is currently pregnant, considers the film a great project. Partly because she can refer to it as a parent in the future. “I hope to score some points with my kids with this one day,” she said at Paramount Pictures CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday.
The singer made in 2015 Home her debut as a voice actress. Jim Parsons and Jennifer Lopez, among others, also had a role in this 3D animation film.
The Smurfs Movie can be seen in cinemas from February 14, 2025. The film is a collaboration between American production companies Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies.
