Kajal Hindustani, a right-wing activist, has been arrested by the Gir Somnath police in Gujarat for allegedly delivering a hate speech during Ram Navami celebrations in Una town. Kajal had been absconding since she was booked last week, but she surrendered at the Una town Police station on Sunday. She has been charged under Sections 295(A) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the religious feelings, after allegedly inciting violence against the minority community during the celebrations organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on March 30. Following her speech, tension gripped the area, leading to violence, vandalism of homes, vehicles, and passersby, and pelting of stones. Kajal claims to be an entrepreneur and social activist and campaigned for Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections in Rajasthan’s Kota.
