RIGHT NOW: Birmancevic close to giving MFF the lead

Malmö FF traveled to Uppsala for a meeting with Sirius on Saturday afternoon. After the 1-0 victory in the summit with AIK last time, MFF had the chance to consolidate its league lead in the Allsvenskan with victory. Sirius in turn chased points to avoid the bottom battle and take a step towards securing Allsvenskan play in 2022.

Even before the match, it was clear that Oscar Lewiki would miss the match due to private reasons. Anders Christiansen, who pulled on a thigh feeling against AIK last time, did not play against Sirius either. Star duo Antonio Colak and Martin Olsson also started on the bench.

But that did not stop MFF from threatening Sirius. Even after seven minutes, Veljko Birmancevic was close to giving the visitors the lead. The Serb got to a good finish from close range but a Sirius defender managed to save the ball just before it was about to roll into the open goal.

Startelvor:

Sirius: Ahlin – Shabani, Mathisen, Colley, Widgren – Netabay, Zeidan, Otmark- Ståhl, Kouakou, Sylisufaj.

Malmö: Dahlin – Larsson, Ahmedhodzic, Moisander – Berget, Peña, Innocent, Nalic, Rieks – Abubakari, Birmancevic.
