Rīgas ritmi Festival Awarded ‘EFFE Label’ by European Festival Association

EFFE or “Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe” is a program of the European Festival Association based in Brussels, supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament. The awarding of the “EFFE Label” is evaluated by an international group of experts, assessing various festival quality standards. “EFFE Label” guarantees the inclusion of the festival in the European festival network FestivalFinder.eu, which regularly provides information to fans of good music and mass media about events in almost all European countries.

The evaluation of the award of the “EFFE Label” also takes into account the reviews of artists about festivals. “You can feel that the team of the Rīgas ritmi festival really cares about music and artists,” Cuban singer Yilian Cañizares admitted last year after performing at the festival. “I felt warmly and wonderfully received and received a lot of love from both the audience and the organizers. This was definitely a wonderful experience!”

“Riga Rhythms” is a great festival!” French artist Charles Passi also did not hide his joy at visiting Riga. “Hospitable, elegant, warm and in keeping with the image of this city and its people. I can also tell you a little anecdote. When we arrived at the hotel, we were told that the lobby bar jam session. We had the desire to play one or two songs together with the jammers, but for ten minutes in obedience jam session band and realizing how good it was, none of us wanted to play anymore. We just listened and enjoyed. I think that says a lot about the quality of this festival.”

The 24th international improvisation, jazz and global music festival “Rīgas ritmi” will take place from July 3 to 6 this year. The main concert venue will be Riga Cathedral Garden, where the biggest concerts will be held on July 4 and 5. The stages of the festival will also be “Riga Jazz Lounge” in the hotel “Radisson Blu Latvija”, “Fenikss Lounge” in the hotel “Aston Hotel Riga” and “Jersika Stage” in the art center “Noass”, while the open master classes of the artists of the festival will take place in the studio of Latvian Radio 1.

On July 4, the London-based Italian jazz guitarist Antonio Forcione will perform in the garden of the Riga Cathedral with his trio, followed by the Italian composer, arranger, pianist and bandoneist Daniele di Bonaventura, conducting our chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” and performing the program “Tango Suite”.

On the other hand, on July 5, one of the leading Cuban jazz pianists of the new generation, Jorge Luis Pacheco, will perform in the garden of the Riga Cathedral with his quartet, and the American soul, funk and hip-hop artist José James will perform with his young jazz star and ” “Grammy” award nominees quartet.

Latvia will be represented at the festival by Matīsa Žilinska Trio, Jūlija Zakirova Quartet, Elizabeta Lāce Trio, Ella Zīriņa Trio, “Third Stream Quartet”, Vadim Dmitrijev Quintet, Reinis Jaunais with Erna Daugavieti, Klāva Ābola Quintet and other artists.
