Representatives of the Riga youth television group “Kidstv.lv” went to Belarus and interviewed the dictator Alexander Lukashenko, reports TV3.
Information from the LETA agency shows that in 2010 the “Kids Music Promotion” foundation and the Television and Radio Institute “OSTANKINO” signed an agreement on cooperation in the creation of the Children’s Television and Radio Academy “KIDS TV”.
As TV3 found out, young people from “Kidstv.lv” wrote a letter to Lukashenko themselves, asking if young people from Latvia could question him on camera. The meeting was also recorded by the Belarusian media, which hurried to use this event for propaganda purposes.
A short video has appeared in the Belarusian media where the members of the Riga youth television group are going to interview Lukashenko before the “Slavjanski Bazar” festival in Vitebsk, his representative tries to postpone the interview, but the dictator interrupts the employee and still goes to the guests from Latvia.
It goes without saying that the representatives of kidstv.lv managed to record the interview. Kidstv.lv is a project of the “Academy KIDSTV” foundation, which offers young people the opportunity to learn interviewing, filming, and video editing skills in Russian. The office is located in the RISEBA building on Meža street. TV3 went there to find out more about Lukashenko’s interview.
But no one opens the door. When calling the number indicated on the website, the secretary answers in Russian. She explains that the young people really went to Belarus to interview Lukashenko, but more comments will be made next week.
“KidsTV.lv” representative: “There was an interview, of course! We already wrote him a letter before that.”
The visit of young people to Belarus is also in the sights of the State Security Service.
