Riga Wagner Theater Building Demolition Completed: Next Phase of Project Underway

The dismantling covered a wide range of works – dismantled chandeliers, historic stoves, parquet, windows, doors and other interior elements, which were donated for restoration and returned to the building after reconstruction. The association notes that details and interior development are an important part of the project, adding that work is currently underway to create the Wagner Theater library, which will fit into the central space on the front of Wagner Street, and the five meters. the upper walls of the hall are used with bookshelves up to the ceiling.

The next phase of the work will begin with the strengthening of the foundations of the building and the construction of the basement. The construction work is expected to last three years and the Riga Wagner Theater will be opened in the autumn of 2027.

Experts from other countries are also involved, for example, theater technology solutions are developed by “Theatre Advies” from the Netherlands, and experts from “Nagata Acoustics” under the direction of Yasuhisa Toyota, who participated in the design of the Elba Philharmonic and the Paris Philharmonic, as well as many others, work as consultants in theater acoustics in special projects.
